Job Description
Overview :
Our client is a law firm that handles all types of property damage insurance claims, business litigation disputes, and personal injury matters.
We have an immediate need a First Party Property Associates with 1-5 years of experience to join our dynamic and growing firm, in the El Segundo office.
Hybrid Available : 3-4 days per week in office, 1-2 remote WFH
The associate attorney position will support the lead attorneys by assisting with gathering, analyzing, and organizing information;
drafting legal pleadings, discovery, deposition attendance and summaries, drafting and reviewing responses and motions, trial preparations and other documents.
Responsibilities :
Work collaboratively with lead attorneys and support staff
Interview clients; locate and interview expert witnesses
Draft legal documents including but not limited to : discovery, motions, summary judgment motions, appellate briefs, affidavits, memoranda, and letters
Investigate factual information to respond to litigation discovery requests or other information inquiries
Assist in all phases of case preparation, including discovery and trial
Prepare for trial, including, but not limited to : providing trial support and attendance
Demonstrate a high level of professionalism in dealing with confidential and sensitive issues (e.g. attorney-client privileged materials)
Travel throughout the state as required to meet business needs
Skills & Competencies
Demonstrate exceptional legal research and writing skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work within a team environment
Ability to effectively communicate with clients, staff and team members
Strong communication, persuasion and negotiation skills to represent client and company interests in litigation situations
Bilingual in Spanish is a plus (not required)
Experience & Qualifications :
Current California Bar License and in Good Standing
J.D. degree from an accredited law school
Note- The firm will also consider those with related litigation experience, example - Civil litigation, etc.)
